The top & sides of this chest are made from solid oak 3cm thick, jointed together using hand-cut "lap-dovetails".

The front face of the drawer-fronts and the front edge of the top panel have a gentle "bow" to them, adding some subtle shaping to the simplisticly square design.

The drawer knobs are turned individually by hand from solid oak, showing end-grain to the front face.

The drawers are constructed with sets of lap-dovetails (hand-cut of course), and the colour contrast at the point where the walnut meets the oak highlights the gapless accuracy of my craftsmanship.
